Iconic St. James Park Playground Tree Finds New Life with Just Be Woodsy Cube Collection

Iconic St. James Park Playground Tree Finds New Life with Just Be Woodsy Cube Collection

October 30, 2024

St. James Park is a historic and integral part of Toronto’s Urban Forest. Located next to the beautiful Cathedral Church of St. James, and just a short walk from the award-winning St. Lawrence Market, St. James Park gives passers-by a chance to connect with nature within the heart of the city. With walking trails, a gazebo, God’s Garden and many beautiful trees, St. James Park has a lot to offer. But perhaps one of its most special features, is the iconic St. James Park Playground, which has been the backdrop of so many beautiful childhood memories. It is with these memories, and the importance of helping children connect with nature, in mind that we bring you the St. James Park Just Be Woodsy Cube Drop!

Each Just Be Woodsy Cube drop will feature wood from a specific Toronto neighbourhood, and we decided we just had to open with one of our most special collections yet: a collection of Just Be Woodsy sustainable wood furniture Cubes made from a beautiful Willow tree that once stood in the beautiful St. James Park Playground!

The Willow tree that this collection of Cubes is made from stood guard over countless games of tag, outdoor birthday parties, and was perhaps even a favourite climbing tree! When the Willow had to be felled by the city, we at Just Be Woodsy knew we had to do something beautiful with its wood. After all, at Just Be Woodsy, our mission is to give Toronto trees a beautiful second life and to ensure that no part of our beautiful Urban Forest ever goes to waste! So, we have made this beautiful, historic, Willow tree into one of our most popular pieces of wood furniture Toronto: The Cube!

Just like the tree it is made from, the Just Be Woodsy St. James Park Willow Cube can serve so many functions. Equal parts side table, stool, plant stand, seat, and display case, the Just Be Woodsy Cube is as multifunctional as it is beautiful. Additionally, The Cube is the perfect piece of furniture for little ones in need of a low surface to stack toys on, use as a small desk, and more! The St. James Park Playground Cube drop is a unique opportunity for you to take home a little piece of Toronto’s beautiful Urban Forest, and to preserve a tree that was integral to so many happy childhood memories. Like so many wonderful things, our St. James Park Playground Cube drop has limited stock. So if you want to ensure that you can bring home one of these very special sustainable wood furniture pieces, you should grab your very own while you still can!
